Yellow Dog Updater
The yum utility downloads package headers and packages from from servers called repositories.
Configuring yum
Primary configuration file: /etc/yum.conf----Holding golbal setttings.
Secondary configuration files in /etc/yum.repos.d directory----Defining repositories.
Using YUM to update, install, remove packages
yum update----Updating all installed packages
yum update packageName----Updating the package specified by packageName
yum install packageName----Installing package specified by packageName together with the packages it depends on
yum remove packageName----Removing package specified by packageName
yum grouplist----Displaying a list of installed and available groups
yum groupinfo groupName----Displaying information about the group specified groupName
yum groupinstall groupName
yumdownloader [--source] rpmPackageName
