Then, your interface ethX, will appear on the NetworkManager." :- this answer is correct.

4.关于源码安装：-make make install configure

configure 配置Makefile中的参数，比如编译器，库路径…………
make 编译源码
make install 编译后的处理，比如把文件移动到指定目录

具体参考对应的Makefile文件

make后面的参数只是makefile文件里面的一个target
