  MyEclipse 4.1.1 GA - JavaScript & Hibernate Enhancements  
  MyEclipse 4.1.1 GA is now available for immediate download at the MyEclipse site. This is the first maintenance release of the MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 4.1 series. This release fixes many of the issues in the former 4.1.0 version as well as introduces a few new features. New features include:

  • Ability to view source within MyEclipse Web 2.0 Browser.
  • New JavaScript Console view added to Web 2.0 Workbench.
  • New customizations available in Hibernate Reverse Engineering Mapping wizard.
  • New Desktop Feature that includes 2 desktop-related actions (Open in Explorer and Send to). This feature is currently limited to the Windows platform

MyEclipse 4.1.1 introduces numerous other enhancements and bug fixes. Please review the Release Notes sections for additional details.

Please refer to the special instructions post if upgrading from a previous MyEclipse release. Also note that you must download Eclipse 3.1.1 or 3.1.2 to use with the latest release. Make sure that you have JDK 1.5 installed to use the UML Modeler on Linux and 1.4.2_05+ or JDK 1.5 for Windows. Unfortunately, due to an Eclipse bug, our Mac users will not be able to access the UML capabilities.

 
     
  New Detailed Tutorials for MyEclipse  
  MyEclipse announces the availability of three detailed tutorials covering the integration of MyEclipse into the J2EE application development cycle. All tutorials provide step by step instructions for managing the application development cycle from project inception to deployment. The first tutorial focuses on the usage of the MyEclipse UML (MyUML) development tools to model and design a J2EE application. Part two provides hands-on details for Enterprise java Beans (EJB) , while part three cover the basics for J2EE Development All tutorials are based on a simulated "WebStock" case study providing development foundations and step by step instructions for Developing J2EE applications using MyEclipse tools in an iterative process. All tutorials in this series were based on the same case study. These tutorials were contributed by Karim Djaafar, a Senior Consultant and the Author of "Developing J2EE Applications with Eclipse and JBoss" book.
