Organization Model View

Organization Model View

The Organization Model focuses on defining the logical organization needed to support the business, not in functional but in organizational terms, such as job roles, the skills required by those roles, and the teams these roles are divided into. It captures the structure of the enterprise's human resources, what the people can do, the categories in which they are placed, and the means to improve the way they are organized. The Organizational Model View is comprised of a Organizational Chart and a Decision Chart .

Organization Chart

Organization Chart

The Organization Chart provides a hierarchical view of the way groups within your business enterprise report to one another. It describes the hierarchical structure in terms of Organizational Units .

An Organizational Unit is a formally defined subset of your enterprise which exists for a specific business purpose. You may specify an organizational unit as being of type work group, business unit, or directing unit. You can identify the Roles performed within each Organizational Unit, where Roles are particular duties that are performed within the organization. Within each Role, you may describe the Competencies needed to perform the Role.

Decision Chart

Decision Chart

The Decision Chart provides a high level view of the standard ways in which your organization approaches problem solving between or within Organizational Units . The Decision Chart models how the business makes its decisions and what impact this has on other teams.

The Decision Chart's two basic symbols are the Unit and the Branch. The Unit is the place where you store information about the work groups for whom the model is drawn. The Branch connects the Units involved.

Decision Charts may reflect centralized decision making, decentralized decision making, or autonomous decision making.
