使用ubuntu server安装lamp主机非常的方便，只要在安装系统的步骤中选择就是了 。但是很多时候我需要在图形界面下管理主机更加方便。今天的教程就是教大家安装图形界面。
【方法一】首先你需要确定你的源文件中 /etc/apt/sources.list 已经使用Universe和Multiverse库。然后使用下面的命令来进行更新源列表和安装图形桌面。
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install x-window-system-core
sudo apt-get install gdm
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
【方法二】如果你只想安装必要的桌面管理软件而不想安装一些诸如 Evolution 和 OpenOffice 的不需要的应用软件，可使用下面的命令：
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends ubuntu-desktop
【方法三】安装轻量级桌面 xfce 使用下面的命令：
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
【方法四】安装 KDE 桌面，使用下面的命令：
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

安装图形界面，前提是ubuntu server 已安装成功，根分区，引导分区，交接分区，逻辑数据分区 都也设置好，否则会不可以安装图形界面。
和Redhat一样进入图形界面的命令是startx，但是直接在Ubuntu Server执行命令是startx，敲击后会有安装xinit的提示。
sudo apt-get install xinit
安装完，reboot重启，运行startx，终端由黑色界面变成白底黑字。出现X型的鼠标指针。这不是我需要的，还是需要安装gnome的桌面套件。
安装命令为：
sudo apt-get install
Ubuntu-desktop --no-install-recommends安装完后，启动桌面环境。
指令：
＄ /etc/init.d/gdm start
执行之后会提示你需要安装的软件包数量及大小，一下是我的安装提示：
frank@ubuntu-server:~$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

看的有点眼花，为了实现Ubuntu Server的图形界面需要下载850个软件包，总共383M，安装之后需要占用2064M的硬盘空间，出于好奇，我做了回小白鼠，执行了Ubuntu Server的图形界面的安装，结果1M带宽的小水管，下载安装共用了3个多小时。
另外还有KDE、XFCE 桌面环境这两种图形桌面环境可选，安装命令分别是：
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
安装好之后startx进入图形界面，和Ubuntu Desktop的界面一样，连OpenOffice都一起安装上了。
