Things to check before you begin:
- Install the latest WN111 software on your computer. You may download the latest driver on this link,
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WN111.asp. - Make sure to have the latest firmware on your WNR834Bv2 router and able to connect to the Internet.
- If you have the latest firmware on the WNR834Bv2, go to Advanced menu and click on
Wireless Settings. Make sure to have a check mark in the
Keep Existing Wireless Settings box and hit Apply.
Configuration Steps:
- Login to the router user interface and click on Add WPS Client menu.
- Click the Next button to proceed.
- Select PIN Number for the setup method.
- The wizard will ask for the WPS PIN of the adapter.
- On the WN111 adapter utility, please click on Join a Network.
- Select Yes, the AP/router supports either of them and I want to use it and then click
Next. - Select No to generate a WPS PIN and hit Next.
- Make a note of the PIN number generated and hit Next.
- The adapter WPS wizard will give you 4 minutes window to activate WPS on the router.
- Go back to the router user interface and type the PIN from the wireless adapter in the
Enter Client’s PIN field and click Next. - The router and adapter will start their discovery and exchange settings to connect.
- A similar page below will appear on the router to indicate a successful connection. Click
OK to finish wizard. - On the WN111 wizard, just click Finish to close the wizard.
You should now be able to connect to the Internet using your WN111 wireless adapter.
Note: You may follow the same procedures when adding a wireless client that is WPS capable and it does not have a WPS button.
