In conclusion, for those that don’t want to read everything I wrote, follow these steps:

1. Edit the ows.js file on your SharePoint server
2. Change “this.dminControl = 5″ to “this.dminControl = 1″ without the quotes
3. Save the file
4. You may need to force a refresh of the page to get SharePoint to load the new JavaScript file.
