The message "Configuration error" appears when you launch a Creative Suite 5 product, along with an error number.

Solutions

Solution 1: Verify permissions to the Adobe PCD folder

Windows:

  • Administrators (Full Control)
  • SYSTEM (Full Control)

Mac OS:

  • Owner = System = read/write
  • Group = Admin = read only
  • Everyone = read only
  • Or from the terminal, drwxr-xr-x root admin

Adobe PCD folder locations

  • Windows 32-bit:  \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\
  • Windows 64-bit:  \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD\
  • Mac OS:  /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/
